Michael Brett Dye Memorial
The Michael Brett Dye Memorial Scholarship was set up in memory of Brett Dye, a 2003 graduate of South Shelby High School. Due to Brett's passion for FFA, his SAE, agricultural roots, and the family emphasis on futher education, this scholarship is to be awarded to FFA members with a passion for agriculture seeking help to futher their education.
Brett was a member of the FFA Chapter and a member of the State Agronomy Team. Brett's SAE project was part of a long standing tradition of raising Angus cattle, and because of this, he was a member of the American Angus Association. In addition to his committment to the FFA, Brett was a active member of the South Shelby baseball team that placed 2nd in Districts during his high school career. In 2007, Brett graduated from Missouri Western State University with a Criminal Justice Degree. Brett was a sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserves and was always proud of his agricultural roots. Chicken Coop ScholarshipThis scholarship fund was set up in honor of Christy Maubach. A special Precious Moments figurine was created in honor of Christy. The profits from the sale of this Precious Moments figurine is then placed into the Chicken Coop Scholarship fund. The number of students awarded this scholarship and amount varies based on the number of figurines sold that year.
